Lincoln's Preschool singing during Church

Every year, Foothills has their preschool children attend the church service and perform a song for the congregation. Lincoln is our singer, he loves it... question is if he will do it in front of hundreds of people. Well he didn't let us down, although it didn't look like he was singing as loud as he normally does, he didn't get scared and he didn't cry! His teacher, Miss Vicci, is the same teacher Leyton had when he was 3! We are so proud of our baby boy, he's growing up so fast!

A new T-ball player in the family!

Look who wants to also play T-ball! Since the team only has 9 players and Lincoln loves to warm-up and watch the other kids play, we gave him a shot at playing with the team and maybe joining the team! He was a little shy at first, granted he is only 3.5 years old, plus he's by far the smallest kid on the team! But surprisingly he handled himself quite well and is looking forward to playing! Look out T-ball... there's a new IRON PIG in town!

Leyton's Class had a Thanksgiving Feast

In celebration of Thanksgiving, Leyton's kindergarten class reenacted the gathering of the pilgrims and native Americans on Thanksgiving day. The class also paraded and performed for the parents before school let out for the break! Lincoln even got to join in on the festivities... it helps that I'm the Co-Room Parent who happened to help organize the event!

Tennis anyone?

We are very fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather during this time of year, especially when folks out east are suffering from snow storms. So of course we have to take advantage of our great weather and do something outside during winter break. So the boys and cousin Isabel went to Mommy's tennis camp again. Our friends Brandon and Julia also joined us. This is probably the 4th time the kids have gotten out on the court and tried to really play tennis and you can see the improvements happening. Aside from feeding them a bag full of balls, we also play with these foam balls that are the size of softballs. The great thing about these balls is that they bounce well and slow, perfect pace for the kids to hone their timing. If you have kids and are looking to get them into tennis, go invest in some of these balls (you can find them at Wal-Mart 3/$4). Leyton can bounce the ball in front of him and hit it over the net now and Lincoln is getting much better at holding his tennis racket correctly and making contact with the ball. They'll shape up into my little "Federers" before you know it! What a great way to end the year!

Leyton's Preschool Christmas Party

From Leyton's Preschool Christmas Party

Today was the last day before winter break at Leyton's preschool. The class has a special party during their usual snack time and then they exchanged Christmas cards/treats. The kids are so open-hearted at this age. Lincoln is one of the younger siblings who often visits their class, especially during special occasions like today. Whenever he is there, all the kids are always welcoming of him and go out of their way to say "hi" to him. Today was an extra treat for Lincoln because he got to join Leyton's class on the playground. Our little 2 1/2 year old was having a great old time playing with the "big" kids (4-5 year olds). It definitely made for a nice ending to school before winter break.

Lincoln's Preschool Halloween Party

You may recognize the background of the photos from Lincoln's preschool because it is the same classroom that Leyton was in last year (his 4-5 preschool with Mommy). Fortunately, Ms. Suzanne (his teacher) didn't turn the Halloween party into anything extravagant. It was a nice, simple celebration of Halloween enjoyed by 21 kids (between 2-3 years old) and their parent. You can't expect much from 2-3 year olds, especially that many of them together in a classroom with their parent.

There was plenty of activities for the kids to do, including painting on shirts for Halloween. This year, Lincoln made a black spider out of his hand prints on a white shirt (you can see a picture of it in the Halloween Night blog, along with Leyton's version). Last year, Leyton's class made white ghosts from footprints on a black shirt (Lincoln made one too). They always turn out so adorable and a great keepsake that captures their size at this particular age.

It's funny how loud and out-going Lincoln can be at times, especially around his brother, but in the classroom, he still remains reserved and observant to everything going on. Leyton was the same way at first, we'll see how Lincoln turns out. The featured attraction at this Halloween party was Toy Story, with 3 Buzz Lightyears and 1 Woody.
