Well it took 3 baseball games but it finally happened this season. After singing the 7th inning stretch song "Take me out to the ballgame" (Lincoln's favorite song), we caught our entire family on the jumbo tron. It was brief but long enough to see ourselves and point it out to Leyton and Lincoln as well.
Throughout the course of the Padres season, it's likely that one if not both our kids will be up on the Jumbotron. It happens every year, and it helps a lot that we have front row seats in right field and that our kids our decked out in Padres gear. Last year, it happened a couple of times, but especially since Linda and Lincoln were chosen to pick the Jack In the Box prize hat, a gimmick they do in between inning changes. You are given 3 hats to choose from and you are trying to pick the one that has a Padres jersey and a years supply of free hamburgers from Jack In the Box. Yes, you guessed it, Linda did NOT pick the jersey, instead she got the worst prize of all, a pair a Padres hair ribbon. Maybe we'll get lucky again this year and one of us get picked for something else! It was a hot day, so the boys cooled themselves down with snow cones, as you can see from above. Unfortunately our Padres are not doing well and this game was no exception as our Cy Young pitcher Jake Peavy lost 2-1 to the Diamondbacks. Better luck next time!
